Christ-Like Thoughts

This will be the first in a three-part challenge to everyone to find ways to become more like Christ in all aspects of our lives. Specifically, we will address how we think, how we communicate and how we act. We will address how we can work to be more like Christ in each of these aspects, beginning with our thoughts.

Philippians 4:8 NKJV reads: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are  noble, whatever things are  just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are  lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

This scripture can be used as the foundation for how we can approach setting our thoughts in a more Christ-like manner. Each of our worlds are full of noise and distractions. These distractions can create a barrier between us and our relationship with the Lord. By meditating on and thinking about good things can help us all set a foundation for our actions later.

Matthew 5:8 NKJV states: Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

We hear in the words of Jesus in the scripture about the rewards of a pure heart. He says they will see God! Wouldn't we all want such a privilege? In our quest to become more Christ-like let us all remember that all Christ-like thoughts begin with a good and pure heart.

Colossians 3:2 NKJV says: Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

This scripture can serve as a reminder for us all to prioritize spiritual growth and heavenly wisdom each day! Things of the earth are fleeting and can be taken from us in an instant. But by choosing to focus our minds on God's plans, we can set a solid foundation to grow from.
