Christ-Like Actions
In the previous two articles we discussed our thoughts and our communication being more like Christ. This focus walks us right into ensuring our actions match our thoughts and our communication.
Jesus tells us in John 13:15 NKJV: For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
We can mimic the countless examples of Jesus showing us how to behave throughout the scriptures. He even tells us in this scripture from the book of John that he has given us an example which we should follow. As humans our nature is to follow things that we see. Follow the perfect example of selfless service!
Matthew 5:16 NKJV Jesus said: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Now let us not confuse what Jesus is telling us here. We are not doing good works to be seen by men, however; our example will be seen and we will be glorifying the name of the Almighty. We all need to perform acts of kindness and righteousness that glorify the Lord.
Finally let's explore I Peter 2:21 NKJV which reads: For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
Jesus endured suffering with patience and without sin. So as an application for us, we should face trials and challenges with patience and integrity, following Christ's example of endurance. So often we do not follow this example laid out for us. Consider this a challenge for us all to take head to the examples Christ has laid out for us.
